Stressed.

Quite a few things to do...I don't even know where to begin.
I am at my wit's end and I feel like everything will crumble.

  2. James,

My previous (long) comment got deleted so Ying-On Shon helped me figure out why. We think it was Firefox's fault; changing the browser to Safari will hopefully allow me to post this.

First, thank you for calling last weekend even when stressed. I appreciate your call; that was very sweet of you.

I've not had a chance to visit your blog again until today, and hope things are going better. From your post, do you mean "crumble" as in seeing the work of your hands get demolished? I think letting the China organization go is a wise decision given the rigorous academic program you are in.

In the past, when feelings of anxiety or being overwhelmed wash over me, I try to ask God to "order my day." There is always a laundry list of things to do, and warring interests require special attention. What to prioritize and when also requires special wisdom since we are finite beings bound by time, energy, age.

Proverbs 3:5 certainly helps (trusting in the Lord and not leaning on our own understanding).

Also the reminder from Ecclesiastes, where Solomon says that there is a season for everything. Indeed we go through seasons in life, phases where we are child, student, spouse, parent --sometimes simultaneously, but with different seasons requiring different emphases.

    Love
    Da Chey
